Yee-haw! The team at Think Digital Studios are thrilled to announce CattleVR, the world’s first virtual reality cattle handling training tool that helps students learn about flight zones in cattle, and how to move animals safely through the yard.
“From one educator to another, CattleVR will allow you to innovate the classroom, have better student engagement, and also has benefits for the animals.”
– Dr Mandi Carr (Senior Lecturer, University of Adelaide School of Animal and Veterinary Science)
Think Digital teamed up with Dr Mandi Carr from the University of Adelaide to develop CattleVR. Mandi observed that many students were coming to lessons without much experience in cattle handling, and as such were acting unsafely around animals in early pracs.
To address this issue, we developed CattleVR – a large animal handling training tool that enables students to fail safely, and learn through repetition. As a further benefit, the tool also improves animal welfare. After using CattleVR, students will have a proper understanding of how to appropriately manoeuvre cattle during real life practical exercises.
Think Digital Founder, Tim Gentle, and CEO, Kat Bidstrup, both grew up on farms and have deep-rooted knowledge of ag practices such as cattle farming. This, in combination with Mandi’s agricultural education expertise, made the perfect team to innovate a Virtual Reality cattle handling training tool!
Now it’s time to saddle up and join us at the station! If you’ve read this far, then it’s safe to say that CattleVR was made for people like you.
Whether you’re an ag teacher, educational innovator, or station manager, CattleVR is available right now across all major VR platforms including Meta, HTC VIVE, PICO XR and via ManageXR and ArborXR.
