CattleVR is a Virtual Reality training experience that helps train people on cattle flight zones and how to move cattle safely through the yards.
Handling cattle can be challenging in circumstances where the person doesn’t have any experience, CattleVR helps develop the basic skills of the student before they head to yards.
Training on live animals can be taxing on the animals, and frequently handled cattle become docile which does not reflect usual cattle behaviour. CattleVR reduces the stress and impact on the live animals.
Placing untrained people directly into yards with cattle has the potential to be dangerous, as they may stand in positions where they may be inadvertently injured by the animals, or behave in a way that causes stress and harm to the stock.
CattleVR has three interactive experiences.
The team at Think Digital are working on new interactive experiences for you to integrate into your classroom.
Learn the basics on cattleyard equipment before you enter the real yards
Perform a basic health check of an animal
Receive world-class teaching support from Dr Mandi Carr, a senior lecturer at the University of Adelaide. Through a series of video tutorials, you will learn best practices in VR student onboarding, how to maximise CattleVR’s efficiency in the classroom, and how to properly engage students throughout each module.
